FrostWire is a peer-to-peer (P2P) client from BitTorrent, formerly a Gnutella client. Like other P2P programs, it was created with a community concept, based on LimeWire. The program uses the BitTorrent/Gnutella client to allow users to download files shared from other users’ computers all around the world. Unlike LimeWire and many other similar programs, however, FrostWire is completely free and there is no paid version where they hide all the good features.

FrostWire lets you download files as fast as possible, without any viruses or other threatening files that could harm your computer. It’s compatible with iTunes and BitTorrent and has its own integrated chat rooms so you can talk to other FrostWire users.

Like all P2Ps, you have access to all the shared files of other users, and that often includes copyrighted material. While FrostWire can protect you from infected files, there’s no way to control whether the files being shared have public rights or are copyrighted. For that reason, it’s the responsibility of each user to know what they’re downloading based on the laws where they live.
